6th Annual Look Twice Save a Life

June 5, 2019 By Laurie Montoya Leave a Comment

Colorado and mother nature being the way they are… you just never know what you are going to get every year for the BikerDown’s Look Twice Save a Life ride, but still the riders always say they wouldn’t miss this ride! The road captains were on messenger daily trying to alter their ride in the event of rain, hail or snow. Registrations were up this year and BikerDown had over 100 riders pre-register and we had an additional 50 riders register at Avalanche Harley-Davidson in Golden.

Whitehorse Riders Hosts Ride the Dream Ride in Las Vegas

June 5, 2019 By Laurie Montoya Leave a Comment

A small local motorcycle ministry from Monument, Colorado is hitting the national riding event stage on June 21st in Las Vegas, Nevada. Russ Young is the leader of this Colorado group and this ride has been in his spirit for a number of years. As the President of the BikerDown Foundation, Russ and his ministry of riders have been assisting BikerDown thru biker advocacy and our adopt-a-family holidays program for the past 4 years. Whitehorse Riders have shown me their commitment to spreading the word of God and going out and helping others that desperately need assistance.

Huge crowd comes out for Military Appreciation Night

April 3, 2019 By Colorado Rider News Leave a Comment

By: Chomper Montoya

For several months Colorado Rider News promoted the Colorado Mammoth’s Military Appreciation Night. My father- in-law is a Vietnam veteran, as well as my son-in-law is active military and I don’t think there is ever enough military appreciation nights. Well the Mammoth and Pepsi center knows how to honor their military and throw a party. Even if you weren’t a fan of Lacrosse or had never been to a Mammoth game, it was a fun filled evening of entertainment and fast- moving Lacrosse.

Still Time to Adopt-A-Family for the Holidays

December 9, 2018 By Colorado Rider News Leave a Comment

As Christmas gets closer, our Adopt-a-Family program is in full swing, and we still have some families that need to be adopted. We are continuing to receive the names of families in our biker community who are struggling, injured riders who are still recovering, or families of riders who have passed that are grieving. There are veterans and families that are without work that won’t be able to put Christmas under the tree without assistance from our Adopt-a-Family program. BikerDown: Toy Run Breakfast in the Park

November 7, 2018 By Laurie Montoya Leave a Comment

This will be the 7th year that BikerDown will host Breakfast In the Park at Aurora Sports Park the morning of the Toy Run.

Volunteers will arrive at 7:30 am and breakfast begins at 8 am sharp. This has become a tradition in the morning and gives the riders a place to socialize, wake up and get in line early so they can be at the start of the parade. It has always been a contest to see who can be the first 100 riders lined up for the parade. [Read more…] about BikerDown: Toy Run Breakfast in the Park

BikerDown Foundation Expanding Nationwide

September 7, 2018 By Laurie Montoya Leave a Comment

BikerDown was founded in November of 2011 with the mission of helping injured riders in Colorado. Nothing could have ever prepared this nonprofit for the journey ahead and the diversity of the riders that we would meet. This mission has changed so drastically since 2011 as BikerDown continued to grow. Never did I anticipate that we would be so actively involved with an injured rider’s family and friends. I never anticipated the need for this nonprofit would be so great that we would help over 65 families with their motorcycle fatalities and over 150 accident help requests just within the state of Colorado in 2017.
